A Fond Farewell
In April, 2002, we released our first novel, volume 1 in a series, A Book of Beginnings. The series followed 15-year-old J Parker's journeys aboard the specter steam train, The Dragon, and her quest to discover the identity of its cursed occupant, the Captain Strange.
The first volume was followed by two more,
A Book of Renaissance, and, A Book of Darkness. Our hopes soared
as sales climbed into the thousands and our fanbase continued
to grow. But then a house fire tipped the project off its proverbial
rails. Sadly, most of the original files and
artwork were lost. A desperate attempt to recover and restore
what we could proved disappointing. In the end we had to face
the facts, StrangetaleS was over.
First off we'd like to offer our deepest gratitude to the dedicated and patient fans of the Captain and the brave and beautiful J Parker. Your support and encouragement kept us hoping and working through the trials and challenges. We are forever grateful and dedicated to you all, and hope to have an opportunity to express that gratitude in a more substantial way; please read on!
Tricorner Publishing (formally Baggin's Books) had burned, but, like the phoenix, we have risen again. We're back, bigger and stronger than ever. We have a new name, but the same attitudes, a new, larger facility, new and improved equipment, and bigger and better stories and characters. Tom and I are still aboard, hopefully a bit older and wiser (but just as 'unconventional' as ever). But now the staff has grown to help us keep up with our expanding business needs. We have new authors, a new editor and chief, and a new graphic artist and webmaster. We're sure you'll like them as much as we do.
So what about J, Sara, and their naff little dog? Heck, what about the Captain? (will we ever find out who this guy is?) And who's stopping all the deadly monsters if the Dragon's crew isn't?
Well...we won't give away too much just yet, but rest assured that J is far from done riding the spector lines into danger. The Captain, being the eternal pain in the posterior he is, has a way of showing up when you least expect him. Fans of the series would do well to watch our other works; you might be surprised.
And keep your eyes on the Tricorner Publishing website; new news is always popping up.
Sincerest Thanks and Great Devotion to you
All,
BB Thompson
